Privacy Policy

Last updated and effective: September 11, 2025

Introduction

At calamity, we respect your privacy and handle your information responsibly. Data is only collected where it is required to provide features of the bot. If you have any concerns or wish to report an issue, please contact us through our support server.

Data We Collect

In order to operate correctly, calamity may temporarily process or store the following:

  • Guild, channel, and role IDs
  • User IDs, usernames, nicknames, and avatars
  • Message IDs, timestamps, and content when commands are used
  • Deleted message content (up to 2 hours; attachments up to 24h)
  • Edit history of messages (up to 2 hours)
  • Voice state events (join/leave voice channels)
  • Audit log events (if permissions are granted)

IP Logging & Ban Evasion Prevention

When using certain external features (like web-based verification), your IP address may be logged for a short time. This is used only to detect and prevent ban evasion (e.g., banned users trying to rejoin with new accounts). Such processing is based on legitimate interest under GDPR. In cases of moderation enforcement, certain erasure rights may not apply.

How We Use Data

  • Debugging errors (message content up to 14 days)
  • Monitoring edits/deletes (up to 2 hours)
  • Providing bot features like role commands or custom configs
  • Moderation tools (logs, join/leave tracking)
  • Analytics to improve performance (aggregated, anonymized)

Data Sharing

Your information is not sold or shared with third parties. Data is handled securely and in line with Discord’s Terms of Service.

Data Retention

  • Command message content: up to 14 days
  • Deleted/edited messages: up to 2 hours
  • Voice and presence events: not stored long-term
  • IDs/timestamps: may be kept until a removal request
  • IP addresses: may be retained to enforce bans and moderation decisions

Data Removal

You can request the removal of your data by opening a ticket in our support server. We may ask for proof of ownership before fulfilling a request. We aim to reply within 14 days.

Requesting Your Data

If you would like a copy of the data stored about you, please reach out via our support server. We usually respond within 7 days.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy at any time. By continuing to use calamity, you agree to the latest version. Breaking our terms may result in permanent restrictions or bans.

Third-Party Services

Calamity may rely on trusted third parties (e.g., hosting providers, analytics tools) to provide functionality. These services comply with relevant data protection standards.

Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, but no system is completely secure. Absolute safety cannot be guaranteed.

International Use

Calamity is operated from the European Union and follows GDPR. Non-EU users may not have identical legal rights, but we aim to provide a comparable level of privacy and data protection wherever possible.
